Open Access Edited Volume (Erasmus+ Project UA-Talent-UP)

Tentative Title: The Skills of the Future: Developing Creativity and Entrepreneurial Capacities in a Global World

1. General Information

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ project UA-Talent-UP, an Open Access edited volume will be published with the objective of consolidating academic research, applied experiences and methodological outputs related to creativity, entrepreneurship and global competences in higher education.

This Call for Chapters invites structured and original chapter proposals that contribute to the theoretical, empirical or practical advancement of the project’s thematic scope, with particular attention to international cooperation and the Ukrainian higher education context.

The volume is expected to bring together approximately 20–25 chapters combining academic research, applied experiences and methodological contributions developed within the framework of the UA-Talent-UP project and related international initiatives.

2. Purpose of the Call

The purpose of this Call is to select high-quality chapter contributions that:

  • Support the development and implementation of EntreComp and Global Competence Frameworks.
  • Analyse or document innovative educational practices, methodologies and institutional models.
  • Contribute to capacity building and resilience in higher education institutions.
  • Provide transferable knowledge applicable to European and Ukrainian contexts.
  • Address emerging challenges, including the role of Artificial Intelligence in education, creativity and entrepreneurship.

3. Thematic Scope

Chapter proposals must be aligned with at least one of the following thematic areas:

  • Entrepreneurial competences and competence-based education.
  • EntreComp and Global Competence Frameworks.
  • Creativity and innovation in higher education.
  • Micro-credentials, MOOCs and modular learning systems.
  • Gamification and digital pedagogies.
  • Capacity building and institutional resilience.
  • Inclusive, accessible and learner-centred educational models.
  • Higher education transformation in Ukraine.
  • International cooperation and institutional partnerships.
  • Artificial Intelligence applied to education, skills development or entrepreneurship.
  • Assessment tools, evaluation models and learning analytics.
  • Policy analysis and strategic perspectives on higher education reform.

4. Types of Chapters

Proposals must clearly specify one of the following chapter types:

  1. Research Chapters:  Conceptual, theoretical, methodological or empirical research contributing to academic knowledge.
  2. Case Study and Experience-Based Chapters:  Structured analyses of institutional practices, pilot projects or implemented initiatives.
  3. Methodological and Practical Chapters:  Presentation of tools, models, frameworks or guidelines with clear applicability.
  4. Policy and Vision Chapters:  Analytical or strategic contributions addressing systemic change, internationalisation or future scenarios.

5. Eligibility and Authorship

  • Chapters may be authored by a maximum of four (4) authors.
  • Each author may contribute to no more than three (3) chapters in the volume.
  • Chapter proposals are open to academic staff, researchers and professionals whose work is aligned with the thematic scope of the volume.
  • Contributors from UA-Talent-UP partner institutions, as well as external authors, are welcome to submit proposals.
  • All submissions will be subject to the same editorial review and selection criteria, regardless of institutional affiliation

6. Language of Publication

All chapters must be submitted and will be published in English.

7. Length and Academic Requirements

  • Final chapters must have a length of between 7,000 and 12,000 words.
  • Manuscripts that do not comply with this requirement may be returned to the authors for revision prior to the review process.
  • Each chapter must include:
    • Abstract
    • Keywords
    • Clear structure and logical organisation
    • Methodological description where applicable
    • Conclusions
    • Complete list of references

Formatting, citation style and technical requirements will be provided to accepted authors.

8. Submission Requirements: Chapter Proposal

Authors must submit a chapter proposal including:

  • Provisional title
  • Selected chapter type
  • Extended abstract (800–1,000 words)
  • Objectives and relevance
  • Preliminary chapter outline
  • Author(s) affiliation and short academic biography

9. Review and Selection Process

All proposals will be subject to an editorial evaluation process based on:

  • Relevance to the thematic scope
  • Academic quality and methodological soundness
  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Alignment with the objectives of UA-Talent-UP

Acceptance decisions will be communicated following the completion of the review process.

10. Provisional Timeline

  • March 2026 – Launch of Call for Chapter Abstracts
  • 15th May last day for abstract submission
  • 1 June 2026 – Abstract acceptance 
  • 30th September Chapter submission
  • October–December 2026 – Peer review and revisions
  • Spring 2027 – Open Access publication

11. Publication Conditions

The volume will be published as an Open Access book with an international academic publisher. All accepted chapters will be subject to editorial review and quality control procedures.
